New Zealand Sign Language courses run by Merge NZ.
New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) is one of official languages in New Zealand, equal to Te Reo and English.
For the Deaf and hearing impaired people in this country, NZSL is the predominant form of communication used. It not only includes hand signals and gestures, but is also made up of facial expressions, body movements, non-manual signals and direct eye contact.
Merge NZ promotes the need for people to learn the basics of this visual language. Many businesses and individuals that provide products and/or services are either unaware of the need for basic NZSL skills or are simply unequipped to deal with Deaf consumers. You can help change that!
You are invited to take up the challenge and join full immersion NZSL course taught by a qualified Deaf tutor. You will be asked to switch off your voice during classes. A great course and not to be missed out!
*These courses are for registered participants only, please visit the Merge NZ website to sign up.
