COVID-19 Updates

All Facilities are Open in Alert Level 2

Under Alert Level 2 public venues and programmes can remain open with strict health and safety practices in place, including contact tracing to record who is coming into our venues and when.

To keep our staff and customers safe we will be implementing very similar measures as we did when we re-opened in Level 2, in May 2020. All these measures are outlined in more detail below.

Facilities may also need to operate in a slightly different way under Alert Level 2 as we did previously. Before visiting one of our facilities please check below if they are operating differently.

Contact Tracing System

We are required to record the contact details of everyone (staff, contractors, customers) who walk through our doors so that we can provide these to the Ministry of Health should they require them.

Customers can choose to record their details using the Government Tracer App OR with the Bay Venues’ contact tracing system (also via a QR Code) when they enter our facilities. For either option you will need to bring your phone when you visit us.

If you are unable to scan either QR Code, you will need to ask a Bay Venues staff to manually record your entry (please note this may take longer).

For instructions on how to use the Bay Venues contact tracing system click here to download an easy to follow guide.

Bay Venues’ will only hold contact details for contact tracing purposes. Following Governments guideline your details will be only kept for four weeks, after this period they will be deleted.

Physical Distancing Protocols

In all our facilities you will find markings on the floor in areas where congregation occurs (e.g. reception, changing rooms etc) to indicate 1 metre spacing. In wet areas the markings may appear on benches and/or on the wall. We will be closely monitoring the number of visitors to our venues to ensure that 1 metre distancing is possible throughout. For sport and recreation we are adhering to the Sport NZ Alert Level 2 Guidelines.

Sneeze guards have been installed at all reception areas where customers and staff come into close contact for a prolonged period. We also encourage customers to use payWave of Eftpos instead of cash.

Capacity & Booking Limits

As per the legislation Bay Venues’ is working to a maximum capacity of 100 customers for events and gatherings. Venue numbers will be managed to ensure a 1 metre distance can be adhered within a venue space (see physical distancing section above).

Memberships

Clubfit, Adams Academy, BaySwim and Aquatic Memberships will continue. If you would like to cancel or suspend your membership further, please contact us:

Hygiene Vigilance

All facilities undergo regular commercial cleans. High-touch point areas will be disinfected throughout the day and/or between use by staff, e.g. door handles, benches, shared equipment. In family changing rooms anti-bacterial wipes will be provided for use on surfaces before and after changing.

We encourage visitors to any of our aquatic sites to consider how they can arrive and depart without necessarily using changing facilities to help minimise risks in these areas.

Hand sanitiser stations have been set up at the entrance of all Bay Venues’ facilities and we encourage customers and staff to use this before entering.

You can also help reduce the risk by following personal hygiene best practice:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water often (for at least 20 seconds). Then dry thoroughly.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or by covering your mouth and nose with tissues.
  • Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
  • Put used tissues in the bin or a bag immediately
  • Stay home if you feel unwell

Bay Venues’ are monitoring COVID-19 developments closely and will be updating this web page and notifying customers via our Facebook pages if our situation changes.
